We're a small team building architectural homes in the Eastern Bays and across Auckland - renovations, new builds, reclads, and the kind of architectural detail that needs to be done properly the first time.

More than the homes we build

We choose our team - the Woodspeople - carefully, and treat each other like family. Many of our trades and suppliers are people we've worked with for years. And we stay in touch with our clients long after the paint has dried.

Architectural builds are what we do

Mike Smith leads the team. Eastern Bays local, qualified Master Builder, more than 20 years on the tools - first across New Zealand, then on some of London's most exclusive residences, now back home.

The wider team brings the same standards. Licensed Building Practitioners and Registered Master Builders, with experienced team leaders and apprentices working alongside them.

We also work with homeowners earlier than most builders do: before drawings are locked in, while there's still room to shape the decisions that matter most.

Sustainability

We think about waste, materials, and long-term performance the same way we think about craft. It's the same job.

Mike is one of only a few Certified Passive House Tradespeople in New Zealand. It's a rigorous international standard, and it means we can support you in making considered choices throughout your build - to reduce energy use, increase comfort, and lower running costs.

Built well, a home is healthier to live in, cheaper to run, and easier on the planet. We think that's worth getting right.
