We’re a building company that values people. We choose our team – the Woodspeople – wisely, and treat each other like a family. Many of our partners and suppliers are our friends, and we like to stay in touch with our clients long after the paint has dried and our job is done.

As Licensed Building Practitioners (LBP) and Registered Master Builders, we uphold the highest craft and ethical standards.

Our team’s experience spans all levels and is led by Mike Smith. Mike is an Eastern Bays local and qualified Master Builder with more than 20 years' experience. His career has seen him work on high-end architectural builds in New Zealand and abroad for some of London’s most exclusive residences.

Our apprentices are supported by our experienced, qualified team leaders. As a team we strive to continuously upskill and develop our building and carpentry expertise.

Just as we care for our people, we care deeply about our impact on the environment. We’re always looking for smart ways to reduce, reuse and recover building material waste, and to build more thoughtfully at every stage.

Our director Mike Smith is one of only 65 Certified Passive House Tradespeople in New Zealand. It’s a rigorous international standard that’s not easy to achieve, and it reflects our commitment to high-performance, sustainable building.

With this expertise in-house, we can support you in making considered choices throughout your build to reduce energy use, increase comfort, and lower long-term costs.
